Summer Reads 2015

There are so many books that I've wanted to read for so long. I'm hesitantly edging more and more towards my most feared genre, contemporary. I can't wait to delve deeper into contemporary by reading these cutesy contemporaries this summer!

What summer books do you plan to read this summer?

  2. I'm reading The Fill-In Boyfriend right now! Although I didn't like the MC at first, I like the interactions between the MC and her love interest :) Also, Second Chance Summer has a great family time. Happy reading, Rachel!

  4. Rachel, you have so many good books on this list!! Contemporaries have always been a favorite genre of mine. Out of your list, I read and especially loved the two Morgan Matson books, the Kasie West books, and Magnolia. Happy summer reading, Rachel!

  5. That's a great list up there Rach! I've only read On the Fence - which was adorable!:) - but I have a few of them in my TBR too. And this post just reminded me that it's been some time since I read a contemporary romance! Maybe I should give one a shot after I finish my current read!:)

  7. Haha, contemporary is your feared genre too? I find that I'm most wary toward paranormal and contemporary books, mainly because of the romance, haha. But I'm slowly starting to love the latter genre more because authors have really been stepping up in their game! Sadly, I've only read one of the books on your list -- On the Fence by Kasie West. It wasn't the best contemporary out there, but it was still super sweet and fluffy and it gave me all the nice feels. It's the perfect summer read, really! So hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did! :D Can't wait to hear what you think of Since You've Been Gone, I've only heard amazing things for that book, and the dust cover for the hardback is so. freaking. gorgeous! *swoons*

I don't really have a list of summer books to read, but I'm hoping to finish up all my physical books this season before I leave for college, since I can't bring any of them with me. :( So that would be The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski, Cress by Marissa Meyer, The Maze Runner series, The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen, just to name a few. And by few, I mean very little. That's what happens when you let me go to too many book sales and then dump me into a reading slump, haha. Pretty much my entire bookshelf at home is unread. *hides*

    Happy reading, Rachel!!

  9. SQUEE so many great books here, I really hope you enjoy some of them and that you are venturing out into contemporary :D I used to avoid contemporary but now I really like it. The Start of Me and You is probably my favorite listed here, although I love Kasie West's books.

  10. I loved Finding Audrey and Since You've Been Gone! Summery reads are perfect when you're looking for lighter reads, I agree with Alise about Kasie West as well!
