AEITA ~ eHarmony Profiles

The romance in An Ember in the Ashes is quite frankly a mess. It's a tangled web that needs its own flow chart to make sense of. But what are each of our characters looking for? Today I share some eHarmony questions and answers from Elias, Helen, Laia, and Keenan.

Dearest America Singer ~ A Helpful Letter & Guide to Good Parenting

This post was inspired by something I tweeted. Then I realized how much I wanted to write this.
Dearest America,

Although we've had our differences, I come to you in peace. I come to you with a plea. You don't know me (yet), but I'm from the future. I have an urgent matter that I must bring to your attention. What I'm about to tell you could alter the future as we know it. It's a risk I need to take though because nothing can be much worse than it is now.

AEITA ~ Character Love & Social Media

I really love the characters in AEITA! Here's quick description of the three main characters and what types of social media I think they'd have.

ARCs ~ The Lowdown

ARC photo ARC_zpsbkjycvpg.jpg

To start, I'd like to reiterate something. ARCs are not everything. ARCs are a privilege, they are not a right we have as bloggers. ARCs are a part of blogging, but it is a very small part in the larger scheme of things. If you're blogging just to get ARCs and free books, then you need to rethink your priorities.

When is the best time to request ARCs? Where do I request ARCs? How does requesting work for each publisher?

Have you ever asked any of these questions? I saw them on Twitter a few days ago, and I thought I'd share my knowledge and help clear away the proverbial cobwebs.

A Contemporary Guide For Newbies

I once was a frightened reader. "Of what?" you must be asking yourself. I'll tell you. I was afraid of the daunting genre that is known for making us emotional wrecks, breaking our hearts and slowly mending them, and forcing us to face tough issues. Why yes, I'm referring to CONTEMPORARIES.

I know that there are quite a few people who still avoid this genre at all costs. It's okay people, I'm here to help you through it with a contemporary guide!

But leading a double life isn't easy. By day Lady A is just a sixteen-year-old girl named Arista who lives in fear of her abusive master, Bones, and passes herself off as a boy to move safely through the squalor of London's slums. When Bones attempts to dispose of his pawn forever, Arista is rescued by the last person she expects: Jonathan Wild, the infamous Thief Taker General who moves seamlessly between the city's criminal underworld and its most elite upper circles. Arista partners with Wild on her own terms in the hopes of saving enough money to buy passage out of London.

Everything changes when she meets Graeden Sinclair, the son of a wealthy merchant. Grae has traveled the world, has seen the exotic lands Arista has longed to escape to her whole life, and he loves Arista for who she is—not for what she can do for him. Being with Grae gives something Arista something precious that she swore off long ago: hope. He has promised to help Arista escape the life of crime that has claimed her since she was a child.
