At the dawn of time, there were 13 Houses in the Zodiac Galaxy. Now only 12 remain….

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancerian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

Embark on a dazzling journey with ZODIAC, the first novel in an epic sci-fi-meets-high-fantasy series set in a galaxy inspired by the astrological signs.

Romina Russell's epic sci-fi debut, Zodiac is out in paperback! This wonderful book centers around, you guessed it, zodiacs, so today I'll share a bit more about my zodiac and how closely it relates to me.

Aries is the first of the twelve zodiacs, and legend has it that a jealous second wife of a king tricked the king into thinking he needed to sacrifice his first wife's son to stop the crop failure. A ram was sent by Zeus to save the prince from being sacrificed. The ram carried the prince to a neighboring kingdom where he spent the rest of his life in safety.

Aries is a fire sign, and it's in our nature to take action. Aries have great organizational skills and are determined to get things done, so sometimes impatience follows as well. Aries also feel the need to vent anger on others (sorry family). Aries are brave and adventurous. Aries possess youthful energy and enthusiasm which helps them complete all their tasks on time.

"Aries rules the head and leads with the head, often literally walking head first, leaning forwards for speed and focus." -source
^^ Oh my gosh this is actually SO true. I set a brisk pace and usually walk slightly leaning forward with my head. xD

Strengths: Courageous, determined, confident, honest, passionate, enthusiastic
Weaknesses: Impatient, short-tempered, impulsive, moody, stubborn, confrontational
Likes: Taking on leadership roles, physical challenges
Dislikes: Inactivity

Famous Aries:
-Tyler Oakley
-Lady Gaga
-Robery Downey Jr.
-Emma Watson

Sooo, does this sound like me? ;)

What is your zodiac? Do you match the traits and personalities?

  1. I'm a gemini. I know that a lot of twins are gemini and the symbol shows two people together which could symbolize that it's right for me to be a twin. Yeah I'm a twin so it fits. It also says I'm very stubborn, which yes, I guess I am. OMG This is so cute. I want my own Zodiac sign thingy like that from Romina's book. I still have to read it thought so gimme a minute while I purchase Zodiac online :D

  2. I'm a Sagittarius. Well I read once that I'm actually the 13th sign, I don't remember the name of it. I guess since the planetary alignments have shifted over time there's 13 now. Have you heard of this? I just love your review, I'm so excited to read this! :)

  3. I'm an Aries too! The traits and personalities didn't really match me, though. Most of my friends say that I'm very patient since I'm rarely angry at someone (at school, at least). I also didn't like being a leader and physical challenge. However, it's true that I'm a really moody person ;)

Suprisingly, I never heard of this book before, since it sounds awesome and all. I might read it soon :)

  5. I had to look up my zodiac for this. hehe. I've never really thought about it before!! And omggg...it was so right. 0_0 I'm apparently a Capricorn and the little bio was like "Capricorn sign adores success and power." BAH ME. RULING WORLD. YUS.
Anyway I love that cover of Zodiac! And I'm super curious about it now. :D

  6. I love all that zodiac stuff! I don't buy the every day horoscopes, but the traits from my sign always sound like me. I'm a Leo. :) My daughter is an Aries and this sounds exactly like her lol.

  8. I'm a Virgo, which apparently means I'm analytical, intelligent, critical, selfless, stubborn and determined. Pretty much sums we up in a nutshell. (Although the intelligent part is still up for debate - LOL). Just put this one on hold - I'm a huge fan of anything that has to do with zodiac signs (I just find them so interesting because of how eerily accurate they are) so this sounds right up my alley. Thanks for sharing Rachel and, as always, fabulous post! ♥

  12. So mine is Scorpio, and it has some parts that are spot on and some that are very much not. Here's the weird thing: I was born early, and was supposed to be a Sagittarius, which also is half spot on, half not at all. So that kind of creeps me out ;) Also, I must read this book, and this is a good reminder :D
