About Us

(Loud || Outgoing || Opinionated)
Rachel is a teenaged unapologetic fangirl and perfectionist. She's a bit of a tough critic yet still manages to fall head over heels in love with lots of books.

She loves reading for the escape it gives from reality and enjoys crying over books, swooning over characters, and laughing out loud over funny lines.
She is a semi-recovering Netflix addict and a middle child of three.

Rachel resides in the United States, yet she doesn't stay there often. She travels with her family quite a bit, has been to over 40 countries, and seen 5 of the 7 Wonders of the World. Learning about different cultures and world history fascinates her. She attempts to communicate in her learned languages (Mandarin and French) but can definitely count on her English if all else fails.

Her favorite authors include Sarah J Maas, Cassandra Clare, Alexandra Bracken, Mary E. Pearson, Leigh Bardugo, and Marissa Meyer.

You can follow her on Twitter @yaperfectionist, Instagram @yaperfectionist, and add her on Goodreads (Rachel).

(Independent || Articulate || Mischievous)

Julia is a bit of an imbecile.  She talks far too much and laughs far too often.  She's rather annoying, and no one likes her much.

Kidding.  The girl grows on you, (though she is a moron).  Julia currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii.  As you can imagine, she spends her days sipping piña coladas and bathing in the sun.  She spends her days crying over mountainous piles of homework, (unsuccessfully) trying to pry her eyes away from her computer screen, and of course, reading.

Julia's a dreamer.  She often zones off periodically throughout the day thinking up plans for the future, pining over fictional characters, and concocting up possible plot lines for stories.  Julia enjoys scribbling in little notebooks, jamming out poems on her typewriter, and typing up stories on her computer.  Her dream is to one day become a famous author, but she has yet to actually finish a story of hers.  Wish her luck, because she'll need it.

Julia is not limited to a specific favorite genre, but she does enjoy a good contemporary romance or action-packed fantasy as much as the next reader.  Her favorite author is Ms. Joanne Katherine Rowling.

You can find Julia on her main blog, Peach Print, on Twitter @peachprint, on Instagram @yapeach, and of course, right here on the APCB blog.

(Talkative || Crazy || Passionate)

Mishma is a 16 year old teenager from Sri Lanka who's always loved books and talking about them. She often comes off as a loud, outgoing, funny, hyperactive and happy go lucky girl! She's known as the entertainer, the nerd, the adviser and the resource of books among her friends.

She's also a lazy procrastinator despite also being known as responsible. She loves organizing things, events and making plans.

Her addictions include Twitter, Buzzfeed, binge-watching tv shows and movie marathons. She has a weird obsession with Greek mythology, wars-especially World War II, classic old movies with uncensored violence and villains with a secret vulnerability.

She loves bad boys and swoon worthy romances in books. In real life, she's a forever single, insecure girl -who's sure she'll end up as a crazy cat lady- and has a huge soft spot for nerdy guys with geek glasses and great voice.

She has always wanted to write and recently she's started to flirt with the idea of getting a career in publishing. It's her dream to move away from her conservative, YA book lacking country and to explore the world when she grows up.

You can find her at her own blog, Twitter or Instagram. She loves making friends, so stop by to say a hi!

(Earthy || Artsy || Intellectual)

Jess is just a small town girl, living in a lonely world. Wait.. wrong occasion.

But seriously, Jess is a small town girl from California where everything seems to be big, including the books she reads. People have differing opinions about her: some will say she is smart, others “hipster” (or her personal favorite--”soooo Tumblr”), and if you ask her mom, she’ll say she’s a bad driver. But most people just say she is passionate and friendly.

She frequently visits art museums, poetry slams, and indie bookshops. She loves supporting the arts in ways she can, even in the small ways other people think won’t make a difference. In addition to listening to poets say whatever the heck they want, she writes her own poems: about God, social injustices, and the places she’s been, to name a few topics. Whenever inspiration hits, it hits and she won’t stop it. She loves listening to podcasts, British people talk, and her mom singing on Saturday mornings. When she isn’t blogging, reading, or any other bookish sorts, she loves learning about biology, watering her plants, & occasionally using the ampersand.

Jess’s (gosh, she still finds it weird seeing three s’s in a row for her name) favorite authors include Rick Riordan, J.K. Rowling, and Tommy Wallach. Constantly, she reads young adult books with a sprinkle of middle grade. She will fight you over book boyfriends, don’t try her.

But if you do want to try her, find Jess on her own blog, Twitter, Instagram, or Goodreads.

(Pensive || Passionate || Quiet)

Lynette is a 26 year old Army veteran turned mother of two little munchkins, J who is 3 and Baby A who is 1 ½ years old. She’s grown up inhaling books from an early age and promptly shoving them on to everyone she ever met.

She has recently completed her degree and is a certified elementary school teacher and is currently starting her masters to become A LIBRARIAN! Yes all of her friends who made fun of her years and years spent helping their school librarian was right! So now she can get paid to be a book pusher. Double win.

To describe Lynette’s personality is quite a difficult thing with many many layers (you could call her an oinion). Despite her tendency to be opinionated about the things that she loves (or doesn’t) she isn’t quick to share those opinions. She reads a lot but not very fast because she will be caught thinking too much about the things that the books are trying to say.

You can find Lynette in books of fantasy riding horses beside sword wielding heroines and battling fire breathing dragons with magic! She dives into other genres but this specific one is her home.

You can find her at her own blog, Twitter, or Instagram. Don’t hold it against her if she doesn’t speak much, she’s just a little shy!
