My Glittering Court

I was given the amazing opportunity to read Richelle Mead's newest YA series, The Glittering Court prior to release, and I loved that book so much! It's completely different from Vampire Academy and is laced with elegance and refinement and all the luxuries of life possible in this Elizabethan-influenced setting. You can read my review here.

The Glittering Court is an enterprise where teenage girls of poor families are refined, polished, and educated as high-class ladies to become wives for men in the new territories. The Glittering Court includes beautiful estates where the girls are educated in all areas to make them the most alluring and desirable to men.

March Wrap-Up

Time is flying! I can't believe March is almost over. Some amazing things have happened this year, and I can't wait to share in this post!

Blog Tour: Stone Field (All Historical Fiction Books, Take Notes!)

Today I'm pleased to host a stop on the Stone Field blog tour!

Stone Field is a historical fiction novel that takes place during the Civil War and is a Wuthering Heights retelling. I absolutely loved the setting and time period of Stone Field. It is such an important part of the story.

Vibrantly offbeat and utterly original, Lucy Keating’s debut novel combines the unconventional romance of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with the sweetness and heart of Jenny Han.

For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed of Max. Together, they have traveled the world and fallen deliriously, hopelessly in love. Max is the boy of her dreams—and only her dreams. Because he doesn’t exist.

But when Alice walks into class on her first day at a new school, there he is. Real Max is nothing like Dream Max. He’s stubborn and complicated. And he has a whole life Alice isn’t a part of. Getting to know each other in reality isn’t as perfect as Alice always hoped.

Alarmingly, when their dreams start to bleed into their waking hours, the pair realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

A Trip to Powell's City of Books!

Hello from Oregon, APCB readers!  Yes, it's true: I hopped on a plane and journeyed across the Pacific.  I'm now, officially, on the U.S. mainland.

A couple of days ago, I visited Portland for a quick bite in the city.  And while I was there, I absolutely had to visit the famous bookstore, Powell's City of Books.

I snapped a few photos while inside Powell's premises, so take a look at all of the books!
