A Reflection on 2016

Oh what a year it has been. It seems almost cruel to say, but I've had a great year despite the election cycle, terrorists attacks, celebrity deaths, and racial divides that have wreaked havoc on 2016. It's been a huge year of growth for me. There is an immense difference between 2015 Rachel and 2016 Rachel.

Best Books I’ve Read in 2016

I can't believe that 2016 is almost at an end. It's been a rough year, but I can't wait to look back at the books I've read throughout 2016. I read only XX books, and I can definitely attribute that to a summer spent working and college.

Top Ten (First Half of) 2017 Releases I Can't Wait For

I have 301 books on my 2017 releases Goodreads shelf. It was a herculean task to narrow the list down, and I couldn't bear not to mention ANY of these 15 books. (I know... I cheated).

Blog Tour: Black Moon

Black Moon is without a doubt my favorite installment in the epic sci-fi Zodiac series by Romina Russell, and here's just a snippet of what you can expect: action, kissing, a royal ball, magical creatures, suspense, betrayal, and deception. What more could I ask for??

Why I Love Vampire Academy

When I was in 9th grade, I went through a huge adjustment. High school was incredibly demanding and extremely difficult at first. I had buckets of homework and loads of stress to accompany it. I turned to reading as a comfort, something to help me escape from school's pressures and workload. In September 2012 I discovered the highly popular Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I binged the series in under a month. I was so drawn to the hilarious and badass Rose Hathaway. I loved following her narrative. She fought off deadly vampires, fiercely protected her best friend, and held her own against the petty drama at school. The secondary characters are just as lovable, and the romances are so swoony!

Rachel's College Update

Hey friends!

So it's been awhile... I know, complete understatement.

I started my freshman year at Penn State in late August. Immersing myself in a new environment, a new place to call home, was so difficult. I had acute homesickness for a few weeks, but Happy Valley charmed me so completely as did the Penn State community. I've met so many amazing people and I've had some experiences that are just "so college." I can't imagine myself going anywhere else but Penn State. Also our football team is nationally ranked in the Top Ten!! Yes dear readers, I now bleed blue and white like a true Penn Stater. WE ARE!!
