Top Ten Tuesday is an awesome weekly meme created by The Broke and The Bookish where each week they post a new Top Ten list on various bookish things.
This week's topic:
Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read
Hint, there's a trend to these ten books. Let me know if you find it.
*psst* It's the GENRE

10. Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas
The blogosphere has been buzzing about how great this mysterious thriller is. I can't wait to read it! But alas, 20 ARCs and summer reading must be read first before I can dive into this.
9. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
Student and teachers alike at my school watch Game of Thrones obsessively. We spend class time discussing!! I feel so left out!! I MUST remedy this. And I do love fantasy. And death. (Not morbidly or anything).
8. Biggest Flirts by Jennifer Echols
This book sounds like cuteness and romantic overload!! I will save this book for a time when I'm super-stressed out and need cheering up. I fully expect to swoon and "awwww."

7. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West
I am ecstatic to read this!! It sounds adorable and romantic. Many readers sing Kasie West's praises; I can't wait to see what the buzz is all about.
6. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins
Once again, a cutesy romance that I can't wait to read!! This is one of those books that seemingly everyone has read but me. I've got the book, I must remedy this!
5. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
When this book first released, there was an influx of 5 star ratings and sputtering reviews saying how "FANTASTIC AND AMAZING" this book is. It's got such a pretty cover too. I'll get to this eventually!

4. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Just like Rebel Belle, this book was a hit immediately after publication. Everyone said "Rachel, you MUST read this!" And so I shall (eventually).
3. The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa
I've heard nothing but great things about this paranormal/dystopian read. I hope I can read it soon to see what everyone's raving about!

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
I hear about this book literally every day. I get PMs on GR saying I should read this book. People ask me why I haven't read this. Everyone recommends it. I WILL read this eventually. But seriously though, I get rec'd this on a daily basis.
1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
This book is by far the most recommended book I've ever been rec'd. People gush about this and always tell me to read it! So I've caved and bought it. I hope I can read it soon, I'm most looking forward to this!
What books have people been telling you that you MUST read?
YOU MUST READ FANGIRL! I absolutely love it. As someone who doesn't really love Contemporary, I think you would enjoy this one.
ReplyDeleteI will read Fangirl, I promise!! ;)
DeleteI've read most of the books on your list and they really are really good so here I am telling you to read them too hahaha :) I especially loved Fangirl!!
ReplyDeleteEileen @ BookCatPin
Lol, I've been saying the same thing. "Not to be repetitive or anything, but you MUST read that!!"
DeleteOH MY GOSH. Okay, so, FANGIRL is one of my favorite books and you just have to read it. And so is ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS and oh my gosh, you haven't read it?! And THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US is so freaking adorable and cute that you just have to read it. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteRachel @ Beauty and the Bookshelf
I know, I know. Hangs head in shame. Anna and Fangirl and The Distance Between Us are contemporary veterans. I WILL read them all. I promise!!
DeleteYES you must read Fangirl! It is really really good! I also need to read Anna and the French Kiss as well! AND SAME WITH DANGEROUS GIRLS. That book has been taking over my bloglovin' feed!
ReplyDeleteSee? Everyone's telling me I must read Fangirl. It'll happen eventually ;) I know right? I blame Faye, Cait, and Zoe and all those lovelies xD
DeleteDangerous Girls is the book that made me love YA mystery, seriously that book is the biggest mindf*ck I've ever read. I didn't really like The Distance Between Us, Fangirl and Rebel Belle but I hope you'll like it. I loved Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door, hope you'll like these too.
ReplyDeleteTo All the Boys I've Loved Before made it onto my list too. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
You're welcome! I hope I enjoy them too :)
DeleteI read Fangirl and I loved it. It's very relatable especially if you are in a book "fandom" such as Harry Potter :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in MANY book fandoms, and I'm a fangirl. I think I'll relate :)
DeleteFangirl is wonderful & CUTE! (which I'm sure you already know :P). Anna & Lola are really lovely as well!
ReplyDeleteThe Immortal Rules has a really great MC (in the first two books). It's so dark & kickass. Julie Kagawa sure knows how to tell a story.
Dangerous girls is on my list as well. Gush I want to read it so bad!!
I want to read DG too!! I want to read all the YA books in the world :D
DeleteDangerous Girls and Fangirl mainly. ESPECIALLY Fangirl. The Immortal Rules is the epitome of diversity... FINALLY it's an Asian character that's not at the sidelines and considered the "geek" of the crew. :p
ReplyDeleteYess!! Asian takeover :D I'm proud :)
DeleteI adored To All the Boys I've Loved Before! Such a good one. And Dangerous Girls is definitely crazy, not one to miss! And all the others, people have been begging me to read too :)
ReplyDeleteIt's got such a pretty cover too... I've heard DG is insane. Can't wait :)
DeleteBasically you HAVE to read The Distance Between Us (Kasie West is the Queen of Sarcasm), Lola and the Boy Next Door (because Cricket is totally swoon-worthy but he's mine okay), and also Anna and the French Kiss. Quite a few of these are also ones that would made my list had I not been limited to ten.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by My TTT! :)
Thank you for saying I "HAVE to" instead of I "MUST." Points for variety ;) I shall read them all, I promise!! I've got Anna and Lola :) You're welcome!
DeleteAhhh, so many great books on this list! I LOVE Anna and the French Kiss and really enjoyed Biggest Flirts. I also am dying to read Game of Thrones. I want to watch the show, too, but - alas - it's not on Netflix. Fangirl is definitely another one of those "You must read now!!!" books. It was amazing!
ReplyDeleteHope you get to these soon!
Ashtyn @ Wonderland’s Reader!
IKR? Why isn't GoT on Netflix?? Thanks, I hope so too :)
DeleteRebel Belle is also one book that I should read! It has been recommended by so many people and the cover is cute!
ReplyDeleteFangirl is a book that I think all of us can relate to. It's a cute and nice read!
Hope you get to reading these books soon!
-Kat
Rebel Belle has such a pretty cover <3 Yup, the very title calls to me ;)
DeleteMy Sherlock senses are tingly...let me deduce that you're not overly fond of cutsey fluffy contemporaries? ;) ME TOO. Although I mostly love them, I'm just never inspired to pick one up. They always end up being kind of 3-star reads for me because if the characters just freaking communicated with each other the book would be over in like 100 pages. *sigh* But I DO think Anna/Lola are marvellous and I enjoyed them a whole lot!
ReplyDeleteI want to read Game of Thrones but I actually think I'll watch it first! I know! Bad bookworm, but it might help me to keep up, right?!
Ding, ding, ding WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!! Yup that's it ;) They keep piling up in my TBR, and I have no urge to pick them up... Don't worry Cait, I do the same... I've seen Season 1 of GoT already xD
DeleteA game of thrones and fangirl are on my list too. The distance between us was Awesome with a capital A.
ReplyDeleteI've nominated you for the liebster award, check it out on my blog post:
http://welcome-to-zeds-thoughts.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/liebster-award.html
Awesome? Yay!! Aww thank you :)
DeleteYou MUST read Dangerous Girls indeed heheheh. Biggest Flirts is on my TBR pile because of the gorgeous cover but I haven't heard extraordinary things about it. Rebel Belle was very good and To All the Boys I've Loved Before good--sweet. :)
ReplyDeleteI WILL read DG soon (I hope). Biggest Flirts sounds wonderful <3 I'm glad you enjoyed Rebel Belle. I've heard some mixed stuff, but we have pretty similar bookish taste. TATBILB is on my To-Read NOW list xD
DeleteI haven't read 'Anna and the French Kiss' yet either but pretty much the whole world was raving about the series when Lola came out so I'm looking forward to reading it too! 'Fangirl' was definitely a good book, and honestly, 'Rebel Belle' was kind of a disappointment, but I hope you enjoy it more than I did. 'Biggest Flirts' and 'To All The Boys I've Loved Before' are two books I just can't wait to read; they sound so good XD
ReplyDeleteI know right? It MUST be good then...I've heard Rebel Belle was a disappointment... They do sound really good :)
DeleteLet me just add to it then: YOU MUST READ DANGEROUS GIRLS!!! Like... IMMEDIATELY ;) I am doing an international giveaway for it over on the blog, you might have already seen it. Think of adding a second winner and letting 2 people win a copy each because I really think more people need to read these books.
ReplyDeleteI have read and LOVED quite a few of these: To All The Boys, The Distance Between Us, Game of Thrones and Anna & the French Kiss.
I did read Fangirl, but I am the only person who doesn't love it, haha! :)
haha I will! But with the shocking revelation that eARCs expire, I'm frantically reading those! I can't wait to read the ones you loved :) Yeah I'm a bit hesitant to read Fangirl. I don't do well with over-hyped books...
DeleteSo many people have listed Dangerous Girls. I might have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteYour lists looks almost like my TBR list, that just keeps growing.
https://innerworkingsofthefemalemind.wordpress.com/
I know right? I have 500+ in my TBR 0_o
DeleteI've read 5 of the books on this list :D
ReplyDeleteAnna and the French Kiss
Fangirl
The Distance Between Us
Biggest Flirts
Dangerous Girls
really enjoyed them all! I haven't read The Immortal Rules, either, but I want to.
ooh I hope I enjoy them too :) Glad you liked them!
DeleteYes! This list! You must read Anna, To All the Boys, Fangirl, and the Distance Between Us. They are all so so good. I'm looking forward to reading Lola. I've heard such good things about it.
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to stop by. It's been one helluva week. Have a good day, Rachel!
Haha it's fine, no rush! I enjoy just reading your posts hon ;) yes, yes, yes, I WILL read them :)
DeleteI wish I could get into the hype of Game of Thrones but it might just be to gritty for me. I started the first episode and couldn't even finish it. The first book is sitting on my shelf tempting me but it will probably remain unread. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteYeah GoT is a bit rough... The book is HUGE. You're welcome :)
DeleteABSOLUTELY YES TO DANGEROUS GIRLS. As in, seriously, girl... 20 ARCS = Dangerous Girls, fo' real. I really, absolutely, definitely, totally urge you to prioritize it ;) I swear it's that good!!!
ReplyDeleteFaye at The Social Potato
I probably will. Who cares about those ARCs, DG here I come!! ;)
DeleteI haven't read any of these either, but everyone does seem to love Stephanie Perkins' series. :)
ReplyDeleteI know right? Everyone loves her books :)
DeleteI am guessing the genre is contemporary ;). I am not a big fan of contemporary but since started to read more of it I have found some real gems, like ... Anna and the French Kiss. By far my favorite upbeat contemporary YA. Definitely worth your time! I want to read the majority of the books you mentioned too. But, so many to read, so little time .. :). Hope you get to these soon!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes, contemporary. I've realized that there is an upbeat side of contemporary, not just a sad, miserable, tragic side. I know right?? Not enough time!! Thank you :)
DeleteAs someone who doesn't normally read Contemporary or Romance, I surprised myself by loving the very realistic Fangirl. Game of Thrones is more up my alley. Both are worth the read! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for that! I'm not much of a contemporary fan either; that puts me at ease knowing you enjoyed Fangirl! I do like fantasy too :)
DeleteI definitely feel you about Dangerous Girls. I've seen everyone blowing up about how amazing it is (and it's sequel). I am really keen to read it, because it looks awesome and I actually love YA thrillers. They're fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely going to be your daily Fangirl rec-er right now because OHMYGOSH it is seriously amazing. And sweet. And funny. And sad. It's pretty much perfection. If you've ever fangirled over anything in your entire life, this book is for you. If you've ever written fanfic, then this book is even more for you. It's just amazing, and it's got something almost everyone can relate to. ;D
You MUST read the Stephanie Perkins series! I fell in love with the characters more and more with each book. Get to it, girl! ;D
ReplyDeleteto all the boys i've loved before and fangirl are excellent!
